I would like to be able to link columns from one sheet to another.

Use cell linking. While you cant link an entire column, you can link all the cells in a column:http://help.smartsheet.com/customer/en/portal/articles/861579-cell-linking

I found a way to do what I think you want.

Click on topmost cell in the column you want to link to, then drag bottom right corner down to how many columns you want to link (like 50) and they "highlight", click link button on tool bar.

then go to sheet you want to link from and do the same procedure (highlight 50)

Click "Create Link" bottom right.

Hope this makes sense, but I did it on one of my sheets several times.

Alan,

You can skip the first selection. Just right-click on the top cell you want to link to, not the whole selection. Select the Create Link menu item.

In the "Link from Cell in Other Sheet", do you your selection as you describe.

When you click "Create Link", it will fill in the column below. You don't need to worry about matching up the number of cells selected in each sheet.

Can you do this with blank cells so the data auto-fills when entered on the source sheet? My source sheets are over 1300 rows and growing., is there any way to work around the 500 cell limit when linking cells instead?

Angie, the 500 cell limit is just per action. You can have up to 5000 inbound cell links in a a sheet.

You can cell link blank cells if they had contained data at one point. So, add data to your cells, save your sheet, then delete the data. Now you can cell link these blank cells.
