Integration to MS Azure Devops (i.e. TFS)
I want to integrate Smartsheet data to and from Azure Devops, both ways.
What is the best way to do that?

The goal is to have high level tasks in Smartsheet, and low level dev tasks in Azure Devops.
Tasks from Azure can be nested to Smartsheet under existing rows with all associated data (e.g. status), and/or aggregated by specific data (e.g. working hours) to display as summary KPI in a Smartsheet sheet.
我不确定的full specs, but at this stage I mainly want to understand if and how is that even possible- via a native Smartsheet integration? or perhaps a 3rd party app (e.g. Zapier)?

Try theSkiviaapp. It can sync Azure DevOps and Smartsheet Data without coding in both directions. Read more here.

You are not missing anything. This is how DV works with dropdowns unfortunately. My work around in the past is to create an other option in the drop down, user chooses save. Then have logic built for a text field that appears so the user can input the values not present in dropdown. <\/p>
