All Smartsheet notifications coming from the owner of the sheet.

How can I change that? I create the sheets and workspaces for all the company and I want to change my name and my information when workflow communications run. I do not know if that possible, if not, this is a very good improvement to the system. Be able to change that on workflow communications. Thanks

You would need to change your account name to show something else.

The best workaround that I've found and the one I recommend to my clients is to create a general account and transfer the ownership to that account so that would be the sender.

This has been a topic raised since Smartsheet made this change a year ago. Please see the thread below and add your voice to this topic via the Enhancement request form. There are still a lot of us who would like to have the choice on this feature implementation. The thread below also contains some workarounds that might help you out.

Today the proposed changes to automated update requests \/ notification has now got the OWNER's name in the email.<\/p>

This is causing us absolute chaos.<\/p>

Update requests have been sent out and as they now have the owner’s name (in our case this morning Kirsten Cox) the owner is now receiving lots of emails from people asking questions about the update request.<\/p>

Kirsten, as a licenced user, has created the smartsheet but it is being used and operated by another team member.<\/p>

Kirsten has no involvement in the content but is now inundated with a 100 emails.<\/p>

To add further panic – we currently have 32 smartsheets as a new adopter, Kirsten has created about 4 and I have created all the rest – so I’m likely to be absolutely swamped.<\/p>

Is there any way we can<\/p>

1. Turn it off \/ revert back to from Smartsheet<\/li>
2. Put someone else’s name as showing who the update requests are from (in this example James Potter a team member and free user)<\/li><\/ol>

Hi, I am trying to make a co-worker who manages the sheet the owner so he gets all the email replies from automation we set up , but I am getting this notice . Any one know why? trying to make him the owner of the sheet.

Thanks for clarifying! The next thing to check is to see where the sheet is located. If it's in a Workspace, then the new owner would need to have at leastAdminaccess to the workspace in order to receive ownership. See:
