System AdminsforEnterpriseaccounts can disable any file attachment options. For more information, seeManage Global Account Settings.

You can attach almost any file from your computer to a sheet, row, or comment.

Read on to learn how to do this.

Before you begin

In the desktop app, when you upload a file from your desktop, change the file name if you want to attach the same file to the row. If you upload the same file without changing the name, you’ll be prompted to do either of these options:

  • Attach as a new version of the original file
  • Attach as a separate file with a duplicate name

This behavior will slightly differ in the mobile app. When uploading an identically named file in there, a duplicate will be directly created. Unlike in the desktop app, you won’t have an option to create a new version.
